This temple was founded in the fifteenth century AD by Pedanda Bawu Danghyang Nirartha Rawuh or derived from Majapahit Kingdom. Pura Tanah Lot is located on the sea or separated from the mainland and around the temple there are also several small and big temples include Pura Pekendungan. Below and to the west there is a source of fresh water is holy water for Hindu. Pura Tanah Lot is located in the village of Kediri District Beraban + 13 km from the town of Tabanan, complete with adequate parking. When low tide visitors can directly up to the court of the temple to pray.
Under there are some cave temples in which lived some large snakes and small black and white. The snakes are very tame and should not be disturbed. If the tide water, then the temple will look like a boat floating on the water. At Tanah Lot we can watch the full moon rise at night and the sunset on the horizon, is a very beautiful sight.
Pura Tanah Lot Beraban located in the village, Tabanan, about 1 hour 15 minutes drive from Kuta.
Besides laden with historical value, this temple also offers a fascinating charm of the sunset (sunset) and very crowded visited by tourists, especially in the afternoon. Landscape offered similar to that in Uluwatu Temple.
